Lash Enhancement Tattoo
Pre-Care Instructions
Preparing properly for your lash enhancement tattoo ensures the best results and a smooth, comfortable procedure. Please review the following guidelines and follow them closely before your appointment:
1. Discontinue lash growth serums
Avoid using lash serums (like Latisse or similar) for at least 4 weeks prior to your treatment, as these can cause increased sensitivity and affect pigment retention.
2. Remove lash extensions
If you have lash extensions, please have them professionally removed at least 1 week before your appointment.
3. Arrive with clean eyes
Please arrive with no eye makeup on the day of your procedure—this includes mascara, eyeliner, and eye creams. Clean skin ensures a sterile work area and better pigment absorption.
4. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and blood thinners
Do not consume caffeine, alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, or fish oil for 24–48 hours before your session, as these can increase bleeding and sensitivity.
5. No Botox or fillers near the eyes
Please wait at least 2 weeks after any injectables in the eye area before booking your lash enhancement tattoo.
6. Remove contact lenses
You must remove contact lenses before the procedure. Bring glasses if you need them for aftercare.
7. Protect your skin
Avoid tanning, sunburn, or harsh exfoliants around the eye area for at least 1 week prior to your appointment.
8. Cold sore history?
If you are prone to cold sores, ask your doctor if you should take a preventative antiviral medication before treatment (while this rarely affects the eyes, it’s good to be cautious with any tattooing procedures). After your lash enhancement treatment, it’s completely normal to notice some color fading and patchiness within the first two weeks. This is part of the healing process. Over the next 30 days, the pigment will slowly resurface, resulting in a soft and natural look.
Please note: this treatment is a lash enhancement, not a traditional eyeliner tattoo. It creates a delicate shadow along the lash line, giving the illusion of fuller lashes and subtle definition—perfect for a naturally enhanced eye.
Immediately After Treatment:
Expect sensitivity and minor swelling.
Avoid applying makeup to the area for at least 5 days.
Gently clean with baby shampoo and warm water, using your hands only.
Pat dry and apply ointment carefully—avoid getting it into your eyes.
Post-Treatment Care: Days 1–10
To ensure the best possible healing and color retention, please follow these steps carefully:
Cleanse Gently
Wash the area once daily using warm water and a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser (baby shampoo works well).
Use clean hands only—no washcloths or sponges.
Dry With Care
Pat the area dry with a soft, clean towel. Avoid rubbing or tugging the skin.
Apply Aftercare Ointment
With a clean cotton swab, gently massage a small amount of ointment (as recommended by your artist) onto the area for about 10 seconds.
Carefully blot off any excess—the area should not feel oily or greasy.
Be very cautious not to get any ointment in your eyes.
Let It Breathe
Your lash line should feel clean and lightly moisturized, not wet or coated.
Reduce Swelling
Sleep with your head slightly elevated for the first few nights to help minimize puffiness.Healing Timeline:
Small scabs may form—let them fall off naturally.
Color may fade and appear patchy for the first two weeks.
Full healing takes around 6 weeks. Most clients do not need a touch-up.
Wait for 6 weeks for full healing before deciding if you need a touch-up. The colour will fade by 30-40%. Most people do not require a touch-up, but if you feel you would benefit from an additional session, feel free to book a touch-up appointment.

Scar Camouflage Aftercare
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure the best healing and beautiful, natural-looking results from your scar camouflage treatment. Please follow these guidelines closely:
Immediately After Treatment:
Your treated area may feel sensitive, warm, or slightly swollen—this is normal.
Avoid touching or picking at the area to prevent infection and pigment loss.
For the First 7–10 Days:
Keep the area clean and dry. Gently cleanse with a mild, fragrance-free soap and water—pat dry, don’t rub.
Avoid tight clothing on scars
Avoid soaking the area (no swimming, baths, or hot tubs). Showers are fine but keep the area out of direct water spray.
Apply ointment 3 times a day to support healing and prevent dryness.
Avoid makeup, creams, or other skincare products on the treated area unless approved.
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds. Use a high-SPF sunscreen (30+) on the area once healed.
Avoid Heavy sweating or strenuous exercise that causes excessive moisture or irritation.
Avoid Picking, scratching, or rubbing the treated area.
Avoid chemical exfoliants, retinol, or other active skincare products on the area until fully healed.
General Healing Timeline:
Scar camouflage is a highly individualized treatment, and healing times can vary based on your skin, health, and the type of scar being treated. Understanding what affects your recovery will help you get the best possible results.
Days 1–7: You may experience light redness, tightness, or mild flaking. This is normal.
Weeks 2–4: The surface continues to heal, and pigment may appear lighter as the skin regenerates.
Weeks 8-12: Pigment begins to settle into the skin and the true results begin to show.
Factors That Affect Healing Time
Type and Age of Scar
Older, fully healed scars (1 year or more) respond better and typically heal faster.
Scars that are raised, stretched, or delicate may need more time or multiple sessions.
Scar Location
High-movement areas (like the stomach or joints) and high-friction areas (like waistbands or bra straps) may heal more slowly.
Thin or sensitive skin may require extra care and gentle treatment.
Skin Type
Oily, dry, or sensitive skin can affect pigment retention and overall healing.
Darker skin tones may need more time to settle due to pigment sensitivity or potential for discoloration.
Overall Health
A strong immune system promotes quicker healing.
Conditions such as diabetes or autoimmune disorders, or the use of certain medications, can slow the healing process.
Aftercare Compliance
Following your aftercare instructions closely is essential for proper healing.
Avoid picking, rubbing, heavy sweating, or direct sun exposure during the healing period.
Technique and Pigment Selection
At Beautiful & Co., we use a gentle, layered approach with pigments carefully matched to your skin tone to minimize trauma and encourage optimal results.
Touch-Up Timeline
We recommend waiting 12 weeks before evaluating your final results. At that point, we can determine whether a touch-up is needed. Most clients achieve their desired outcome in one to two sessions, depending on individual factors.
Areola Tattoo Aftercare
(Tegaderm Method)
Keep the Tegaderm bandage on from the time of your appointment — do not remove or peel it early. It is protecting the area as it begins to heal.
On Day 7, remove the bandage while in the shower. Let warm water gently loosen the adhesive, and carefully peel it away without pulling or forcing.
Once removed, gently wash the entire area with your fingertips using a mild, fragrance-free soap. Rinse well, then gently pat dry with a clean towel — do not rub.
After the shower, stay topless for one full hour to allow the areolas to air dry completely before covering the area with clothing.
Areola Tattoo Aftercare
(Non-Adhesive Method)
Caring for your areola tattoo properly in the first few days is essential to ensure optimal healing and long-lasting, beautiful results. Please follow the steps below:
Day 1: After Your Appointment
Leave the non-adhesive pads placed on during your treatment in place overnight with a loose-fitting bra to hold them in place.
If the pads don’t easily come off in the morning, wear them into the shower and allow warm water to soak the pads — this will help them gently release without pulling pigment from the skin.
Days 2–4: Morning Routine
Each morning for the next three days, repeat the following steps:
Gently cleanse your areola tattoos in the shower with warm water and mild, fragrance-free soap.
Once out of the shower, pat dry with a clean towel and allow the area to air dry for 3–5 minutes.
Use a q-tip to apply a small amount (dime-sized) of Aquaphor to each areola.
Place a new non-stick pad over each tattoo and wear a loose-fitting bra to hold the pads in place.
Repeat these steps again each morning for the next two days.
Day 4: Final Step
After your shower and gentle cleansing, do not reapply pads or ointment.
Sit topless for one full hour to allow the skin to completely dry out.
After that hour, you may wear a loose-fitting bra — no pads or ointment needed from this point forward.
Healing Tips:
A light scab will form over the treated area in the first week — this is completely normal.
Do not pick, scratch, or rub the area as it heals.
Avoid sweating, tight clothing, and direct friction on the area for at least one week.
Do not submerge in water (baths, pools, hot tubs, oceans) for at least 10 days.
Once the scabs naturally fall off, you can begin applying a gentle, fragrance-free lotion to relieve dryness for the next 2–3 weeks.
