PERMANENT TATTOO

Appointment Guidelines for Permanent Makeup

PRE CARE

To ensure the best results from your permanent makeup procedure, please follow these guidelines:

  • Stop Using Skin Thinners – Avoid retinols, vitamin A, glycolic acids, and exfoliants on the brow area at least 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • Waxing & Brow Shaping – If you plan to wax or shape your brows, do so at least 2 days prior to your procedure.
  • Brow Tinting – If you tint your brows, schedule it at least one week before your appointment.
  • Avoid Blood Thinners – 48 hours before your procedure, do not consume alcohol, caffeine, aspirin, ibuprofen, or niacin, as they can cause excessive bleeding and affect your results.
  • Bring Your Brow Style – If you typically fill in your brows, feel free to come in with them done so I can see your preferred shape. If you’re open to suggestions, I’ll be happy to create a customized brow look for you!
  • Pain Sensitivity – You may experience increased sensitivity or discomfort if your appointment is scheduled around your menstrual cycle.
  • Botox & Fillers – Schedule any cosmetic Botox or filler treatments at least 2 weeks before or after your procedure.
  • Skin Health Matters – We cannot tattoo over blemishes, sores, or moles in or around the brow area. Please ensure your skin is clear before your appointment.

Following these steps will help ensure a smooth and successful procedure. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! 💕

POST CARE

At Beautiful & Co. LLC, your healing and comfort are our top priorities. After your paramedical tattooing treatment, including areola restoration or scar lightening, following proper aftercare is essential for optimal healing and long-lasting results. Please follow these guidelines carefully during your 10-day healing period.

After each procedure, you will receive an aftercare kit that includes a gentle cleanser and a healing ointment. It’s important to follow the steps below to ensure proper healing:

  1. Cleansing:
Gently cleanse the treated area with lukewarm water and a mild, non-scented soap. Avoid harsh rubbing and always cleanse the area with your hands (not a cloth or washcloth). Clean the area morning and night for the next 7-10 days or until the scabbing stops.

  2. Drying:
After cleansing, gently blot the treated area with a clean, dry towel. Do not rub, as this can cause irritation or disrupt the healing process.

  3. Applying Ointment:
Apply a small, rice-sized amount of the healing ointment to the treated area. Use clean fingers to apply it to the skin in a light layer. Avoid using too much, as this can cause clogging or disrupt healing. Apply the ointment morning and night for the first 7-10 days.

Healing is a gradual process, and it’s normal for the appearance of your areola tattoo or scar lightening to change as it heals. Here’s what you can expect:

  1. Initial Appearance (Days 1-3):
Immediately following the treatment, the area will look darker, more defined, and possibly swollen. It may appear “painted-on” or “wet,” but this is temporary. The color will soften over the next few days.

  2. Flaking and Dryness (Days 4-7):
The treated area may begin to flake and peel as it heals. This is normal. It’s important not to pick or scratch at the skin. Picking off flakes prematurely can result in patchy areas or scarring.

  3. Post-Week 1:
The flaking should subside, and the color will start to settle into the skin. Healing time typically takes about 4 weeks for the area to completely heal, but it’s important to continue following aftercare instructions for full recovery.

During the healing process, avoid these activities to ensure the best possible outcome:

  1. Sun Exposure:
Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds, as UV rays can fade the pigment. After the initial healing period, apply a high SPF sunscreen to protect your tattoo.

  2. Sweat:
Excessive sweating (e.g., from intense exercise or hot yoga) should be avoided during the first 10 days, as it can affect the pigment and delay healing.

  3. Water & Moisture:
Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, or any activities where water can directly affect the treated area. Do not immerse the area in water, including washing the area under running water.

  4. Makeup & Creams:
Do not apply makeup, lotions, or any products on the treated area until the skin is fully healed. Avoid exfoliants, retinol, and acids as they can cause premature fading.

  5. Touching & Picking:
Avoid touching or scratching the treated area with dirty hands. Do not pick at any scabs or peeling skin, as this can disrupt healing and affect pigment retention.

To keep your areola tattoo or scar lightening looking its best, consider the following:

  1. SPF Protection:
Always protect the treated area with a broad-spectrum SPF 50+ sunscreen. Sun exposure can cause fading and distort the color over time.

  2. Avoid Chemical Exfoliants:
Avoid using chemical exfoliants, retinoids, or AHAs near the treated area, as they can cause the pigment to fade prematurely.

  3. Touch-Ups:
Over time, tattoos naturally fade. For the best results, we recommend scheduling a touch-up appointment within 6-12 months, depending on how well your skin retains the pigment.

While most clients experience beautiful and long-lasting results, it’s important to remember that everyone’s skin heals differently. Your scar lightening or areola tattoo may appear slightly different after healing, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and post-care. Results vary from person to person, and some individuals may need a touch-up session for optimal results.
